Step 2: Understand the Different Ways to Get Involved
Racehorse ownership can take several forms.
Sole Ownership
You own the horse yourself and experience the journey as its individual owner.
Partnership
Ownership can be shared with family, friends or business colleagues, allowing you to enjoy the experience together.
Syndicate
A syndicate allows a number of people to become involved in a horse and share the ownership experience.
Racing Club
A Racing Club can provide a more accessible introduction to racing and is particularly interesting for people who want to get closer to the sport before considering a larger commitment.

Step 3: Establish Your Budget
Racehorse ownership involves more than the initial purchase price of the horse.
You also need to consider training and other associated costs.
Patrick Owens Racing's current daily training fee is £60 + VAT.
Additional costs can include farriery, supplements, transport, race-day staffing, veterinary treatment and racing administration fees.
Before making a commitment, we are happy to discuss the likely costs with you.

Ownership isn't only about race day.
Some of the most rewarding moments happen between races.
Owners at Patrick Owens Racing receive regular photographs, videos and updates about their horse's progress.
You'll also be kept informed about future plans, race entries and declarations.
Owners are welcome to visit the yard and watch their horse training on Newmarket's famous gallops.
Seeing your own horse exercise on the gallops is a very different experience from watching racing from the grandstand.
Step 7: Experience Race Day as an Owner
Then comes the moment every owner waits for.
Your horse is declared to run.
Race day gives you the opportunity to experience racing from another perspective.
Owners receive racecourse badges according to the allocation provided by the racecourse, and Patrick and the team will keep you informed throughout the day.
After the race, you'll have the opportunity to discuss the performance and what comes next.
Of course, everyone wants to win.
But racehorse ownership is about more than the final result.
It's about following the horse, sharing the journey and experiencing racing from the inside.
