Since taking out his license in 2019 each season has seen growth in both results and the quality of Patrick’s string. In his second full season with a license Patrick's breakthough horse came in ADAAY TO REMEMBER, who was purchased for just 6,000gns. The filly thrived under Patrick’s watchful eye, winning twice and gaining Black Type on three occasions, including finishing second in the Group 3 Summer Stakes at York. The daughter of Adaay reached an official rating of 104 before her sale as a broodmare for 160,000gns.

Another standout performer was €20,000 yearling purchase, WAHAAJ, who won his first two starts under Patrick before finishing runner-up in the prestigious Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown Park.

Last season’s flag bearer was another cheap yearling acquisition, who cost just 10,500gns.  ODDYSSEY was the yard's first Royal Ascot runner when finishing third in the Listed Chesham Stakes. The Ulysses colt later filled the same position in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes, chasing home Ballydoyle's superstar in the making City Of Troy as well as subsequent Group 2 scorer Haatem.

Oddyssey thus became the third black-type performer for Patrick in three years. The cumulative purchase price for the three Black Type horses was £34,146, proving Patrick has the ability to get the very best out of the raw materials he is presented with.

Alongside his partner Amy, a former successful amateur jockey, who worked for the great David Nicholson, the couple provide a hands-on approach to training in a friendly, family atmosphere. The team pride themselves on giving each horse the individual care they need in order to strive.
